Tour Inside of a Computer
Field Trip through a Computer
Imagine, if you will, that there is no longer any need for you to leave the comfort and safety of your classroom to go on a field trip. Suppose, that you are now in a future so much more advanced than that of today. A future were a student, such as yourself, may be handed a small device that could quite literally sit upon your lap, and that through this device you could be granted access to a new and amazing world of science and computer technology.
Today is that day, your "lap-top" device will take you on a Virtual Field Trip Tour of what in the future we will call a computer.
How will this happen? You ask. Well it can only happen in the...

Creating a Valentine's Day Card Template
Creating a Google DOCS Template
It is so easy to use Google DOCS, especially when the hard work is already done for you.
But TODAY... you're the one that is doing the hard work for someone else. But, don't worry, the hard work is just as easy.
You are going to create a template and help us build a HUGE database North Star Charter School Valentine's Day cards.

What's a TEMPLATE?
If you often find yourself creating the same kind of Google Doc, you can save a lot of time with a custom template. Custom templates can contain boilerplate language like your address and logo or preset fonts and colors
Before you make a template, make sure you are comfortable with it being public, as Google Docs doesn't allow these documents to be private. There is a way to create a similar kind of document that stays private, but that workaround doesn't use the Google Docs Template service.

Typing.COM - Honing Our Keyboarding Skills
Practice does not make perfect. Only perfect practice makes perfect. -- Vince Lombardi
#1. Intermediate - Typing.com
There is always more room for practice. Great piano musicians, don't stop at greatness, they practice. Football teams that are made up of the best players in the world, still practice. The same is true for BUSINESS SKILLS, practice. Keyboarding is a skill that although useful right now today -- may not even be practiced in the future. It just may be a SKILL that is no longer needed as technology continues to advance.
My goal is to help get you ready for ALL possibilities of the FUTURE and for right now; that includes KEYBOARDING -- SO, we are going to practice.
You should have set up an account on the website TYPING.COM earlier in class. You should also have started the beginner portion of the STUDENT LESSONS (just for practice). Now it is time to get into it!
